I am really drawn to this winter color especially for the holidays. There is something luxe and celebratory about emerald. Many shades of green are considered emerald, but the darker and more rich the color the better. I think the lighter shades can get cheesy real fast.

The Newest Crop

No belly buttons here. These crop tops are all grown up and not the least bit trashy when paired with high waisted skirts or layered over flowy blouses. I wasnt sure how I felt about these tops when they started appearing last year but I have to say I think with a high waisted maxi I would even feel comfortable wearing this look - you dont even have to show skin.

Style Trend: Navy & Black

Do you remember when wearing black with brown was a total no no? Now I think it is such a classic pairing. And my new favorite pairing that I am seeing creep up lately is navy & black. I know so many women who have a predominantly black wardrobe because it is the shade they feel most comfortable in. Adding navy is an easy way to make an average all black outfit look current, chic & cool. 

Parisian Chic

Can we just talk about fashion editor Emmanuelle Alt and her posse of French Vogue editors and stylists. Hard not to envy women with that "I just rolled out of bed and had a perfect hair day", minimal makeup and legs for days look. Her trademarks include: rolled sleeves, slim cropped pants, menswear inspired jackets, always in heels and a belt, and a deliberate absence of color. I love color way too much and am too petite for her style. But I cant help but admire her low-key cold weather Parisian chic.
