House Tour: Contemporary California Family Home

I am thrilled to bring you a lovely house tour today. Ashley Fletcher and her husband moved to LA from New York a year ago with their baby daughter Coco. Some rentals are so plain to begin with and completely lack character. This family-friendly 2 bedroom home in Hancock Park would be my dream rental. It boasts high ceilings, bold wall paper choices, and contemporary paint colors while still maintaining quite a bit of traditional charm. 

Ashley, has impeccable taste which she attributes to being a Pinterest addict (aren't we all?) and drawing inspiration from bloggers and Instagram. However it's clear she has her own style and I'm obsessed. Ashley went to Parsons School of Design and graduated with a degree in fashion design which has been her focus for the last ten years. However she recently changed directions and went pack to school at FIT for interiors and its obvious she is very talented and I cant wait to see more from her! I love style that doesn't shy away from color and Ashley's home manages to offer a nice balance.  And for only having lived there a year, it looks so well-styled and "done". 

Ashley decided to try to keep her living room a more neutral palette. I am coveting those Moroccan wedding blanket pillows, the lush fiddle leaf fig tree (why can't mine lo like that?), and her excellent taste in  decorative objects.

Hands down Coco's Nursery is my favorite room of the house. Ashley is so successful at putting gallery walls together and I'm loving the block printed pillows.

Etsy Find: Sally Kelly Abstract Paintings

These beautiful and colorful abstract paintings are by artist Sally Kelly. She has several lovely paintings available in her shop at all price points. And if you hurry she is currently running a sale of 50% off! And if you do not see a painting that matches your color scheme, you can also commission paintings. I am a little obsessed and feel a strong need to take advantage of her current sale - I love this first one most:

Brass Accents via Threshold

Target has become one of my go-to places to grab cute home accents mostly because I am there anyway and it is so easy to swing by the home section to "just look" at what's new. Since brands like Threshold and Nate Berkus have arrived it has become harder and harder to resist! Here is a round up of brass accent pieces from Threshold. With the exception of the bar cart everything is under $100! Not bad. I am so in love with the tufted white bench and pink ottoman but I haven't seen them in the store and am weary of ordering larger items online. Cute right?

How do you spend your birthday money?!?! Well I stretched my birthday cash as far I could and am super excited. As you can tell I have a slight pillow obsession. I may or may not have a closet in my basement that is stuffed full of pillows that I love and haven't found a home for. But today's purchases have a home in mind and will not be banished to the basement quite yet. Also can you believe I scored everything you see below for under $200.00 (and I ordered 2 of the cute tassel pillows)! C. Wonder is currently offering 50% off their sale items which helped out big time ;) Can you tell I am going through a blue period? I have been eyeing the Mr. & Mrs. tumblers from Furbish for a long time now. So. Fun. Maybe for our night stands?

Hollywood Regency Style

I love to browse vintage decor on Etsy and the more I have done that the more I noticed the description "Hollywood Regency" popping up next to all things amazing. If you love color, faux bamboo, tufted upholstery, high-gloss lacquer, brass and feminine chinoiserie accents, you will enjoy perusing all the shopping options for this style on places like Etsy and eBay. The prices range from thrifty to high-end investment pieces. Although Hollywood Regency style is a throwback to the opulence and glamour of the 1930s, it mixes very well with contemporary design.
